You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x is the number
Difference=x-2
Difference is tripled=3(x-2)
Condition says
Tripled difference=Number+6
3(x-2)=x+6
3x-6=x+6
3x-x=6+6
2x=12
Divide by 2 both sides
2x/2=12/2
x=6
So number is 6
