Let x is the number
Eleven more than five times of number = 5x+11
Difference between 227 and four times the number=227-4x
According to the condition
5x+11=227-4x
5x+4x=227-11
9x=216
Divide by 9 both sides
9x/9=216/9
x=24
Therefore the number is 24
