Question 490654: I have tried this several times and still cannot find the correct answer. Using y = mx + b, and given a point and the slope write the equation.
m = -2/3 , (5, -4)
after subbibg in for the equation I got -4 = -2/3(5) + b
from that point i'm lost. please help.....

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Hint: Try this one
y - yo = m(x- xo) where (xo, yo) is the given point and m is the slope
