no it goes like this
(x-5)/a+1=b
multiply both sides by (a+1)...and we get
(x-5)=b(a+1)
solving bracket on RHS we get
(x-5) = ab + b
open brackets on LHs and we get
x - 5 = ab + b
now add 5 on both sides and we get
x = ab + b + 5
it can further be solved in the following ways
x = b(a+1)+ 5
