Even though complex numbers have potential uses in different scientific fields, preparing problems is somewhat difficult because they are used in fairly advanced fields. For example, how air flows in two dimensions can be modeled using complex numbers.

Also, certain geometry problems can be solved using complex numbers, by assuming an origin and assuming the problem is on a complex plane. A certain problem I saw was, "Triangle ABC has equilateral triangles ABD, BCE, CAF drawn outside ABC. Prove that segments DC, EA, and FB are equal in length." The solution involved using complex numbers...
