You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x − 2y = 14
x + 3y = 9
in this case use the sum method to delete x
x − 2y = 14 --> change the signal here multiplyin by (-1)
x + 3y = 9
so:
-x + 2y = -14
x + 3y = 9
_____________
0x + 5y = -5
5y=-5
y=-5/5
y=-1
now substitute y in one of the equations and find x
taking this x + 3y = 9 get:
x + 3y = 9
x + 3*(-1) = 9
x - 3 = 9
x = 9+3
x = 12
Answer: x=12 and y=-1
