Let's have x and y be the two numbers. We can make 2 equations:
x+y=15 or x=15-y
3x=5y-11
Use substitution:
3(15-y)=5y-11
Distribute and get y alone:
45-3y=5y-11
56=8y
y=7
x=8
There we go.
