Question 489409: I am having trouble graphing,it is difficult for me.
I'd appriciate some help.
the question says: Graph each equation by writing two linear equations.
the problem is : y= -|3x+4|

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

y= -|3x+4|

The vertex is when what's between the absolute value bars = 0.
                                         3x+4 = 0
                                           3x = -4
                                            x = -4%2F3

The two equations are

y = -(3x+4)  for x ≧ -4%2F3  and  y = -(-3x+4) or y = 3x-4 for x < -4%2F3

The vertex is the point (-4%2F3,0)

Get a point on each side of the vertex.

 x |  y
-2 | -2
-4%2F3 | 0
 0 | -4
