Question 489074: Im so confuse i dont understand how to answer this set of questions. Please show cancelling and factoring?
1. (x+2)^2/x^2+3x+2
2. 1/4 × 24x
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Easier 2. Note that 24 = 4*6, so can cancel the 4s:
(1/4)*4*6x = 6x
1. Factor the denominator x^2+3x+2 suspecting that (x+2) is going to be one of them.
(x^2+3X+2)=(x+2)(x+1).
So the (x+2) factor will cancel out one of those factors in the numerator:
(x+2)(x+2)/((x+2)(x+1)) = (x+2)/(x+1)
