I am looking on page 296 sec 3.2 #86. Social science. If there are 6 x 10^9 people on the Earth and there is enough freshwater
to provide each person with 8.79 x 10^5 L, how much freshwater is on the

First of all I set up the problem as (6 x 10^9)(8.79 x 10^5)= 53.94x10^45 I have a feeling I am on the wrong tract. any help and advice I can get understanding problems such as this would be greatly appreciated.
I really want to do well in this class but it has been almost a lifetime since I have endeavored in algebrs and to take a repeat course would not be financed :( thank you so much in advance

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You are on the right track:
(6 x 10^9)(8.79 x 10^5)
(6)(8.79) x (10^9)(10^5)
52.74 x 10^(9 + 5)
52.74 x 10^14
Scientific Notation: 5.274 x 10^15
