Question 4881: I am asked if the following is True or False. And I am asked to explain my answer.
Question: A line with Slope 2 is perpendicular to any line with slope -2? True or False? And Why? Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! FALSE!! In order to be perpendicular, the slope of a line must be the NEGATIVE RECIPROCAL of the given slope. A line with slope perpendicular to any line with slope -2 would have to be of slope 1/2. A line perpendicular to a line with slope 2 would have to have a slope of -1/2.
