Question 486391: CAN SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS WORD PROBLEM?>>>>12 LESS THAN THE PRODUCT OF A NUMBER AND -6 Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! let x = the number
the product of a number and -6 would be equal to -6*x
12 less than that would be equal to -6*x - 12
that's your answer.
if we let x = 5, then -6*x - 12 becomes -6*5 - 12 becomes -30 - 12 becomes - 42.
the number is 5.
the product of the number and -6 is equal to -6 * 5 = -30
12 less than -30 is equal to -42.
