I am new to algebra and this one i am struggling with.

he attended 6136 theatrical shows over y years.
the average number of shows he attended per year would be equal to 6136 / y.

example:

if it was 20 years, then he attended an average of 6136 / 20 = 306.8 theatrical shows per year.

multiply 306.8 by 20 and you get 6136.

because we don't know how long he works in the theater. The average is the total number of theater shows divided by the amount years that he works.
so, if you want the answer in years would this. And if you want the answer in months would multiplied by 12. like this:
6136/12x
