the measures of two complementary angles are in the ratio 4:1. What is the measue of the smaller angle ?
Let x = measure of smaller angle
then
4x = measure of larger angle
.
x + 4x = 90
5x = 90
x = 90/5
x = 18 degrees (smaller angle)
