Question 482580: 7. Translate the following situation into an equation. Do not solve.
“The length of the second side of a triangle is four less than three times the length of the first side. The length of the third side is one more than the length of the first side. If the perimeter of the triangle is 37 feet, what is the length of the first side?”

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let Length of the first side of a triangle = x
Therefore length of the second side of a triangle = 3x-4

and length of the third side of a triangle = x+1
Further, perimeter of the triangle is 37 feet
x + (3x-4) + (x+1) = 37
