A)3 B)2 C)4/3 D)6/5 E)-2
Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If v,w,x,y, and z are positive consecutive integers whose sum is 0, then what is the value of z+v/y-v?
It's impossible to have any POSITIVE numbers whose sum is 0, so
I will assume you didn't mean "positive", otherwise there is no
solution. So I'll delete the word "positive" and assume you meant
this:
If v,w,x,y, and z are consecutive positive integers whose sum is 0, then what is the value of z+v/y-v?
You didn't put any parentheses in to show where numerators and
denominators begin and end, so I can't tell whether you mean
this:
,
or this,
,
or this:
The only 5 consecutive integers that have sum 0 are -2,-1,0,1,2, so
v=-2, w=-1, x=0, y=1, z = 2
If you meant this:
, then it's
If you meant this:
, then it's
If you meant this:
, then it's .
You have to let us know using parentheses where numerators and
denominators start and end.
