there are 121 people who take grebex.
1 out of every 11 of them will experience undesirable side effects.
divide 121 by 11 to get 11.
11 * 1 = 11 people who would experience undesirable side effects.
11/121 = 1/11 when you simplify it, so the proportion holds.

if you let x = the number of people who experience bad side effects,then you get the ratio:
1/11 = x/121
cross multiply to get x = 121/11 which equals 11.
replace x with 11 and the ratio becomes:
1/11 = 11/121
cross multiply and you get 1*121 = 11*11 which results in 121 = 121.
this confirms that the ratio is good.

the other way to look at is:
1/11 = .090909091 which is equivalent so 9.090909091% of the people who take grebex will experience side effects.
9.090909091% of 121 = .09090909091 * 121 = 11.
your answer is that 11 people will experience side effects.
