Give the principal roots of each of the following. ( for square roots, assume the principal square is required unless the problem indicates otherwise.)
5. √49= 7
----
If that 3 indicates cube root the answer is
6. 3√-27= -3
If the problem is 3*sqrt(-27) the answer is 3*3*sqrt(3)i
= 9sqrt(3)i

Hi,
principal square root: The positive square root of a positive real number
Sqrt%2849%29 = ± 7 |principal square root is 7
3sqrt%28-27%29 = ± 9isqrt(3) |principal square root is 9isqrt(3)
