Question 47861: Sketch one period of the following trigonometric graphs:
a.) cos^2(x)
b.) |sin x|
c.) y= 3 cos (4x) - 1
I am not certain about my answers...can someone show me how it will look? thanks i really need the help.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a.) f(x) = cos^2(x) = cos(x)^2
This means that there are no negative values, but there are zero values.

Period: pi
b.) f(x) = |sin(x)| = sqrt(sin(x)^2)
This means that there are no negative values, but there are zero values once again.
graph%28600%2C600%2C-10%2C10%2C-10%2C10%2Csqrt%28sin%28x%29%5E2%29%29
Period: pi
c.) f(x) = 3*cos(4x) - 1
Period: 2%28pi%29%2Fa where a is the coefficient = 2%28pi%29%2F4+=+%28pi%29%2F2
