Question 478568: NEED HELP SIMPLIFYING
4(SQUARE ROOT OF 3)-2(SQUARE ROOT OF 14)
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! i believe this has been simplified as far as it can go.
4*sqrt(3) - 2*sqrt(14) appears to be it.
14 can't be factored by anything except 2 and 7, neither of which is a perfect square so neither can be brought out from underneath the square root sign.
example of a perfect square would be sqrt(32)
this can be factored to sqrt(2*16)
16 is a perfect square so it can be brought out from under the square root to get 4*sqrt(2)
about the only thing you can do with this one is factor out a 2 to get:
4*sqrt(3) - 2*sqrt(14) = 2*(2sqrt(3) - sqrt(14))
other than that, i don't see anything else you can do with thiss.
