8x – 11 + 11= 2x + 1 +11
8x = 2x + 12
8x - 2x = 2x - 2x + 12
6x = 12
6x/6 = 12/6
x = 2

8x - 2x - 11= 2x - 2x + 1 (subtract 2x on both sides of the equation)
8X - 2x - 11 + 11 = 1 + 11 (add 11 on both sides of the equation)
8x - 2x = 12

6x/6 = 12/6 (divide by six on both sides)
x = 2
