3(2)^(n+1)-3(2)^n=24 

(2)^(n+1)-(2)^n = 8



 2^(n+1)/2^n - 2^n/2^n = 8/2^n   |dividing each term by 2^n

    2 - 1 = 8/2^n

        1 = 8/2^n

       2^n = 8

          n = 3
