You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To make green paint, a painter mixes yellow paint and blue paint in the ratio of three to two. If he used 24 gallons of yellow paint, how much blue paint did he use?
----
3:2 is the same as 3x:2x where 3x is amt of yellow paint
and 2x is the amt of blue paint.
----
Equation:
3x + 2x = 24
5x = 24
x = 4.8
---
3x = 14.4 gallons (amt of yellow paint)
2x = 9.6 gallons (amt of blue paint)
