2x%2B3%28x-2%29=5.....first multiply 3%28x-2%29
2x%2B3x-6=5.......add 2x%2B3x
5x-6=5......move -6 to the right; do not forget it changes sign
5x=5%2B6.......add 5%2B6
5x=11.......divide 11 by 5
x=11%2F5
x=2.2

you right 5x-6=5+ add 6 to both sides of the equation
5x=5%2B6
5x=11 divide by 5
x=11%2F5
