3/7x-8=6
add 8 to both sides
3/7x-8+8=6+8
3/7x=14
divide both sides by 3/7
x=14/(3/7)
invert and multiply
x=14*7/3
x=98/3
x=32 2/3
use either form for x
depends on what your teacher wants.
