You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a 70% acid solution is to be mixed with a 40% solution to get 90 gallons of a 50% solution
how much gallons of solution is needed
--------------
Equation:
acid + acid = acid
0.70x + 0.40(90-x) = 0.50*90
---
Multiply thru by 100 to get:
70x + 40*90 - 40x = 50*90
50x = 10*90
x = 18 gallons (amt. of 40% solution needed)
----
90-18 = 72 gallons (amt. of 70% solution needed)
