Question 473105: hope you can help as im,and everyone else ive asked are stumped.
i have 400mls of a 9percent solution, i need to concentrate it so im left with a solution that contains 27percent of the active ingredient, the amount in mls that i am left with out of the 400ml is not important as long as its a 27percent solution.
the best i have come up with is concentrating it down from 400mls to 100mls is this anywhere near right? a solution that is a little bit stronger isnt a problem
really hope you can help as im going round in circles.
thanks for your time.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the amount of active ingredient is ___ 400 ml * 9% ___ 400*.09 = 36

the new concentration is 27% ___ 36 / x = .27 ___ 36 / .27 = x ___ 400 / 3 = x
