Question 472407: Factor out the greatest common factor 10xy – 15x = ( )
Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
10xy - 15x
GCF of 10 and 15 is.....5
GCF of x and x is.......x
there is no y in the 2nd term, therefore it is not included in the GCF

GCF = 5x

- when you factor out the GCF, divide each term by it and that's what is left in parentheses

= 5x(2y - 3) {factored out the greatest common factor}
