It is given that 12 is exactly 25% of the number
so 25% of Total = 12
Total = (12*100)/25 = 12*4 = 48


Average of numbers = Total/6 = 84
so total = 84 * 6 = 504
therefore we can get the correct average by dividing 504 by 7
we get 504/7 = 72 as the correct answer.
