Hi
Note: 1 ft^3 = 7.48gal(US)
25,200 ft^3 = 25,200*7.48 gal = 188,496 gal

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First you need to find the volume of the water that is in the basement. You do that by multiplying the area of the basement in square feet times the depth of the water in feet.
.
6300+%2A+4+=+25200
.
You now know that there are 25,200 cubic feet of water in the basement.
.
You then need to look up the properties of water in a reference book. If you do that, you will find that a cubic foot of water contains 7.5 gallons. Since you have 25,200 cubic feet of water in the basement, you multiply that amount by 7.5 gallons per cubic foot and you have the answer.
.
25200+%2A7.5+=+189000
.
There are 189,000 gallons of water in the basement.
.
Hope this helps you to understand the problem better. The trick to it was to find that a cubic foot of water is equivalent to 7.5 gallons.
