c)What is the probability of not selecting the correct access code?
The answer I have for the number of codes is: 290. I am stuck on the rest of the question, I need help. Thanks Found 2 solutions by jorel1380, edjones:Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! The digits are 0 through 7, and can be repeated, so the number of possible codes is 8x8x8=512
----------------
The possibility of randomly finding the right code is 1/512.
The possibility of getting the wrong code is 511/512..
You can put this solution on YOUR website! a) 8^3=512
.
b) 1/512 the probability of selecting the correct access code on the first try.
.
c)511/512 the probability of not selecting the correct access code on the first try.
