Haypennies = 2x-1
Shire pennies = 10+(2x-1)
EQUATION
(x)+(2x-1)+(9+2x)=48
5x+8=48
5x=40
x=8
2(8)-1=15
15+10=25
Hence, there are 25 Shire pennies, 15 haypennies, and 8 fatherings.
