Suppose one number is x then second number is x + 10
x+10 = 2x - 6
10 + 6 = 2x - x
x = 16
second number is 16 + 10 = 26
the two numbers are 16 and 26

Let x is the smaller number
Then 2x-6 is the larger number
Differ between numbers is 10, so equation
2x-6-x=10
x=10%2B6
x=16 the smaller number
2x-6=2%2A16-6=26 the larger number
Answer: 16 and 26
