Hi,
the vertex form of a parabola, y=a%28x-h%29%5E2+%2Bk where(h,k) is the vertex
f(x)= -4(x+7)^2+8 V(-7,8) a maximum, parabola opens downward a = -4 a <0
Line of symmetry is x = -7

f(x)= -(x+6)^2-7 V(-6,-7) a maximum, parabola opens downward a = -1 a <0
Line of symmetry is x = -6
