the number of girls is 6 less than twice the boys.

Let x and (2x-6) represent number of boys and girls respectively

Question states***

  x + (2x-6) = 75

Solving for x

      3x = 81

       x = 27, number of boys. Girls number 48.  (54-6)

 27 + 48 = 75
