f(x) = root 4 of 1 - x^2
f(x)= root 4 of (1 - x)(1 + x)
You can not take a fourth root of a negative number.
1+-+x+%3E=+0
-x+%3E=+-1
x+%3C=+1
Check: (1 - x)(1 + x) = (1 + 2)(1 - 2) = (3)(-1) = -3 Nope
1+-+x+%3C=+0
-x+%3C=+-1
x+%3E=+1
Check: (1 - x)(1 + x) = (1 - 2)(1 + 2) = (-1)(3) Nope
We know that one and negative one will work:
