Question 467582: Hi,
You guys are the best helpers! I asked a couple question yesterday and the answer I got back I couldn't see any of them. I am taking an online Math class. My final is 200 questions. I did most of it but there were just a couple I am not getting and my ebook wont open.
1. Simplify the expression.
square root -128 square root -16
2. Simplify and express in terms if i
square root -144
(I can't even find anything in my book that talks about i in this chapeter)
3.Add the complex expressions, and simplify.
(1.9 – 7i) + (4.2 – 2.3i)
4.Multiply the expressions, and simplify.
(2x^-4y^-4) · (-7x^4y^-2)
5.Short Answer: Simplify the following expression, and rewrite it in an equivalent form with positive exponents.
(6x^-1)^-2
6.Raise the quantity in parentheses to the indicated exponent, and simplify the resulting expression.
(-2x^9y^4)^4
Thank you so much for your help. This math class is killing me!
:)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i is imaginary value, i = root(-1)
so, i^2 = -1
root (-144) = 12i
always perform separate calculation of imaginary value and real value
(1.9 – 7i) + (4.2 – 2.3i) = 6.1 - 9.3i
