You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let A be fathers age, B be sons age:
A = 3B + 2
A + B = 46
Substitute value of A in 1st equation into 2nd equation
(3B+2) + B = 46
Combine like terms
4B + 2 = 46
Subtract 2 on both sides
4B = 44
Divide by 4 on both sides
B = 11
Substitute this value into 1st equation
A = 3(11) + 2
A = 33 + 2
A = 35
