You can put this solution on YOUR website!
%281%2F4%29x-%282%2F3%29=%285%2F12%29x
LCD of the denominators 4,3,12 is 12
multiply the equation by 12

%281%2A12%2F4%29x-%282%2A12%2F3%29=%285%2A12%2F12%29x
we get
3x-8= 5x
add 8 on both sides
3x+8-8=5x+8
3x=5x+8
add-5x to both sides
3x-5x=5x-5x+8
-2x=8
/-2
x=-4
