Question 466165: -9x+y=5
Answer by gwendolyn(128) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Since there are two variables and only one equation, you cannot find numeric values for either of the variables. However, you can find the values of one of them in terms of the other.
If we add 9x to both sides of the equation, we see that y=9x+5.
Alternately, if we subtract y from both sides and then divide everything by -9, we find that x=(5-y)/-9
