Question 46598: Find the x-intercept of the following equation
y = x^2 + x - 6
I get
0 = x^2 + x - 6
I should use the quadratic formula to get
x = ??? THis is where I am lost and I have an assignment due today and can't figure this one out.
If someone can help please.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
0 = x^2 + x - 6
0 = (x + 3)(x - 2)
x + 3 = 0
x = -3 (-3,0)
and
x - 2 = 0
x = 2 (2,0)
