Hi,
Note the graphs of y = x (Green) and y = x-2 (Blue)
Place on separate Graphs...
y < x would be the shaded area below the green line
y ≤ x-2 would be the shaded area below the blue line with the line included.

The other tutor mistook -x for x.
y < -x
y ≤ x - 2
Draw the boundary lines whose equations are
y = -x
y = x - 2
Draw the first line dotted because the original inequality is <
It's drawn in red.
Draw the second one solid because the original inequality is ≤
It's drawn in green.

Since the inequalities begin with y < and with y ≤, we shade
the area that is below BOTH lines.
