Question 465159: how do you factorise?
Answer by richard1234(7193) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you mean factoring a number or expression, you have to be able to determine which number or numbers can evenly divide into it. After that, divide by that number.
For example, to factor 186, first recognize that it is a multiple of 2 and 3, so 186 = 2*3*k for some number k. Dividing through, we get k = 31. This is prime, so 186 factors to 2*3*31.
