A percentage bar graph is sometimes used like a circle graph. If the bar is 8 cm, how long is each piece?
10% 30% 12% 27% x% Found 2 solutions by jorel1380, solver91311:Answer by jorel1380(3719) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If the bar is 8 cm., then
10%=.1x8=.8 cm
30%=.3x8=2.4 cm
12%=.12x8=.96 cm
27%=.27x8=2.16 cm
x%=x/100x8=8x/100 cm..
Convert each of the percentages to a decimal (move the decimal point 2 places left and drop the percent sign). Then multiply the decimal fraction times 8 centimeters to get the measure of the bar representing that percentage. I presume x% is what is left after accounting for the 10, 30, 12, and 27 percent. Add the given percentages and subtract the sum from 100. The result is the value of x.
