Question 464577: The greater of two numbers is 3 more than the smaller. If twice the smaller is added to the greater, the result is 30. Find the numbers. I got this far:
x = number
Lg.# = (x+3)+2x
Sm.# = x
Result = 30
My setup is wrong I know because I can't get the two numbers that add to 30. Answer by sudhanshu_kmr(1152) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
numbers are x and x+3
according to question, 2x + (x+3) = 30
=> 3x = 27
=> x= 9
numbers are 9 and 12.
