When x=0, you can see that y = -6: (0,-6).

We also can try to find the value of x that leads to y=0.
0+=+-%281%2F4%29x+-6
So
-%281%2F4%29x+-6=0
Add 6 to both sides.
-%281%2F4%29x+=+6
Multiply by 4 to eliminate the fraction.
-x+=+24
Multiply by -1 to change the sign of x to positive.
x+=+-24
By inspection we can see that
-%281%2F4%2924+=+6
So that results in the righthand side being 6-6 = 0.
That defines the point (-24,0)
With two points you can graph a straight line.
