1 yard is equal to 3 feet.
1 foot is equal to 12 inches.
to go from inches to feet divide by 12.
to go from feet to yards divide by 3.
to go from inches to yards divided by 12 and then divide by 3 which means divide by (12*3) which means divide by 36.
in your problem, this is what happens.
41 inches long divided by 36 becomes 1.138888888889 yards.
18 inches long divided by 36 becomes .5 yards.
if you buy 2 yards by 1 yard you should have plenty of material to spare.
