You can put this solution on YOUR website! Write the slope-intercept form of the equation of the line that passes through the points (3, -5) and (5, -3)
..
Standard form for a straight line: y=mx+b, m=slope, b=y-intercept
slope, m=∆y/∆x=(5-3)/(-3-(-5))=2/2=1
y=(1)x+b
solving for b using (x,y) coordinates of given point (3,-5) (either point can be used)
-5=3+b
b=-8
Equation of line:
y=x-8
