Question 463582: I am having problems solving these math problems and was wondering if someone could give me step by step instuction so that I can see where I am going wrong when solving the problem.
x+3=2x-7,2y+1=5(y-4),3-5+2x=x-6,2(x-1)=x+11,and 2x-5x=18

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x+3=2x-7 combine like terms.
x-2x=-7-3
-x=-10
x=10 ans.
Proof:
10+3=2*10-7
13=20-7
13=13
----------------
2y+1=5(y-4)
2y+1=5y-20
2y-5y=-20-1
-3y=-21
y=-21/-3
y=7
Proof:
2*7+1=5(7-4)
14+1=5*3
15=15
-------------------
I'll leave the rest for you to practice with.
3-5+2x=x-6
2(x-1)=x+11
2x-5x=18
