Question 463366: 4x-y=3
3x+y=4

Answer by algebrahouse.com(1659) About Me  (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x - y = 3
3x + y = 4
----------
7x = 7 {added the two equations together}
x = 1 {divided both sides by 7}

3x + y = 4 {bottom original equation}
3(1) + y = 4 {substituted 1, in for x, into bottom original equation}
3 + y = 4 {multiplied 3 by 1}
y = 1 {subtracted 3 from both sides}

x = 1 and y = 1
